The Endowment Fund of St. Thomas’ was established in 1974 with contributions by individual members of the parish. It has grown over the years, providing a continuous flow of income to the parish. Income from the Fund has enabled the parish to offer a quality of life and to advance special programs it otherwise would be difficult, if not impossible, to provide.
An example of special uses is the Organ Fund, which comprises about 3% of the overall Endowment Fund. Assets of the Organ Fund are used for organ maintenance.
The Commission continues to work with the Vestry to determine additional courses of action. These are designed to inform parishioners of opportunities for contribution to the Fund in terms of both immediate and long-range (planned) gifts.
The Commission meets quarterly to review the previous quarter’s performance and plan for additional gifts to the Fund.
