The Council of Ministries

The Council is a lay organization established by the Vestry to better coordinate the lay work of the parish. The intent is to give the congregation a hand in the direction of our faith and the way it works in the community. Putting the leadership and involvement in the hands of the parishioners allows for an engaged and active congregation, and one that is inherently involved in the practice of our faith.

How is the Council of Ministries organized?

The Council of Ministries consists of a Council Chair, a Vice Chair, seven commissioners and two liaisons. The Council Chair and Vice Chair are elected at the Parish Annual Meeting. Click here for an organization chart of your current Council of Ministries.

In addition to commissioners who lead each commission, the Council has two liaisons: one representing our Worship Ministries (Altar Guild, Eucharistic Visitors, Music, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, Acolytes and Prayer Ministry) and one representing Church School. Both Worship and Church School report directly to the Rector.
